Liff

Liff bakes all our breads and dough based sweet treats. Her Danish upbringing as a farmer's daughter means a childhood of homemade bread and family meals. Liff is a keen gardener and as well as juggling the many school runs a family of 6 enjoys, she looks after the admin side of Home Feast Home, but is often also seen packing food and battling the vast amounts of washing up the Chef creates.

WHAT WE DO

Restaurant in a Box - to enjoy at home.

Bespoke menus for a Special Occasion delivered to Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and the Cotswolds.

All deliveries are made cold, ready to Heat&Eat and all our Meal Kits has 3 day’s shelf life. Our food is Homecooked by a Professional chef in our commercial kitchen in North Oxfordshire.

We use local suppliers. Our Meat is from Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire using Free-range Pork, Free-range Chickens and Free-range Eggs and grass-fed Beef. All our veg is British and we always aim to create seasonal menus using the things we can grow in the U.K.

Our Packaging

Our Aim is for all our packaging to be biodegradable and made from renewable sources. Currently our brown outer boxes are 100% recyclable and we use British produced cotton string to tie our boxes which can be reused or composted. Our Vacuum Bags are recyclable, which means that they can go through the dishwasher and then be recycled with other plastic bags at the supermarkets, or returned to us and we will recycle them.

When we first set off on our new adventure we asked our customer to return their take away tubs so we could reuse them, but we found that the tubs only lasted about 3 weeks. Now we pack most of our food in vacuum sealed bags. They only weigh 3g each which is a lot less than a normal take away tub.

Our oven dishes packed full of hidden veg are called Family Feasts. Even though these lend themselves to be delivered in an disposable oven tray we pack 75% of them in Vacuum bags, so you can decant into your own ovenproof dish. (The lasagne is just too tricky, so we deliver that in a biodegradable/ compostable ovenproof dish)

Waste

When setting up our commercial kitchen we were mindful of staying true to our family’s values to our environment:

All our veg peelings are collected separately and composted to use in our garden at home. Any other cooked food waste and bones gets sent to a composting facility where it get’s turned into compost used by local farmers.

We collect and recycle all plastic containers, metal tins and glass bottles used in our kitchen and our cooking wine is “bottled” into recyclable boxes and plastic bags in the U.K. This minimises the CO2 used in transporting the wine around.
